I am not quite sure how the 3 pics can be described as how they appear on screen, but for what it is worth although red-biassed no 3 looks by far the best saturation all round, the green and blue as well, at my (macintosh 15" powerbook end)

When I changed from 21" trinitron to the powerbook 4 years ago everything including the finest of CAD lines looked sharper and brighter despite the nominal downsize. I expected the pb to be just a standby for on site, but used it for everything as it was so good.

The bigger issue as far as I am concerned is between how the identical file looks (a) in PSE4 (b) in a mac native/optimised prog (GraphicConverter), which I regard as definitive (c) when uploaded to WPF (d) ditto to pbase. The downgrade is most obvious in order going to (a), (d), (c). There is also the reduction downgrade when using Quicktime or JPEG6 for reduction to take care of. grrrr
