Ive just found this tutorial which sounds similar to what my camera is doing:

Although the flash pops up, when i press the button to take a photo in, i hear a clicking noise which is the lever near the flash which i assume releases it.
Im a bit worried about unscrewing the two screws by the flash,i dont wnat to break the camera?
