The footer on the website states "
All images on this site are the copyright of CN/Furness Newspapers - North West Evening Mail".
If you did not agree to give up all of your rights to the images when you sent them, you still retain the copyright to your original work and their statement is not true nor should they be able to sell them without your permission.
I would contact them and find out what is going on...chances are that someone got them mixed up with shots from a staff or contract photographer, where they generally do have the rights to sell them like this.
