I think I've got it! I was watching Holby City when it came to me; I couldn't enjoy the programme for thinking about it.
The sky on Hawks Head is not the original. I pasted it in from stock of sky pictures many of which were taken on my Ixus 400. I strongly suspect the EXIF info. has been transferred over.
