Meter Check
One way I found to give a good meter check is to use a B/W GREY SCALE and or COLOR CHART.
My images are done by CENTERING THE HISTOGRAM in the HISTOGRAM BOX using the EV CONTROL from the WHITE SIDE of the GREY CARD in HOUSELIGHTS.
