I hadn't considered the 10-22.
The DOF would be a big issue for me because despite your suggestion Tannin that even on the 1D DOF would not be narrow enough, on my 50mm f1.4, it's excellent. Just not wide enough.
I used to have the 1DS but sold it some months ago. Boy do wish I still had it!
The 30D, based on my tests, is clearly no match for the 1D which would probably prevent me going for the 10-22.
I have only had the 30D for a short time and am begining to wonder if I should have stretched the wallet and gone for the 5D but then the Sigma just wouldn't have been an option and my choice would have been more limited to Canon, Canon or Canon (24mm f1.4)
Oh well, It's only money and we can't take it with us when we die - can we!
