Many years ago I dropped a Nikon F90x and macro lens into a silty New Forest stream. The camera was a write off, and the lens required expensive cleaning. I wrote to Amateur Photographer magazine, and they advised specialist insurance, mentioning some names. I worked out that the cost of insuring my cameras for the preceding 10 years equated to the replacement cost several times over. So much for AP and their rubbish advice.
Anyway, Bird Forum has a forum dedicated to insurance. You might find it useful. I'm surprised some of the WPF luminaries have not pointed you in that direction.
