Excellent Christine, I think you have cracked it! The light is definitely even now, I'm still doing little mods to mine, My problem is the FZ30 does not have a removable lens, so I trying to sort out a tube that is the right size (the tomato tin is slightly to small and I'm getting to much Vignetting.
And as I haven't made up my mind whether to keep the D70 I've borrowed I don't want to start messing with the lens on that.
