My Choice for POTW w/e 17th February 2013 is:
Potter's wife by mcliu
I found this a striking image, natural and not posed - although the man, hazy in the background, seems to have spotted the activity! I liked the clever composition, electing to place the woman in the left of the image, which gave space to her pile of finished products. The use of a fast lens and a tight DoF concentrates all the attention on the subject, which emerges in perfect clarity. I think the B&W suits the location and the mood, but I'd like to bet that her sari was vividly coloured in reality.
As in previous weeks, I had a tough choice; that long-eared owl (John Cumber) was nigh on perfect, as was Robski's bluetit, whilst some of Susan's Venetian series lingered in my short list - my congratulations to them too.
