Yep as you say it all depends on the individual and how you react with them?
That security guy at one point said that there were armed police on top of the power station? My reply was " if they want to take a pot shot fine by me, But first ask them to check my camera". They have got used to me now that I can phone port control and ask them what is in and if they are expecting anything special.
I sent the port controllers some A4 prints of some of my pics to show I was genuine.
