As anybody got this lens on WPF?

Is it as good as all the reviews I've read about it say?
and is it worth th money?
I am on the lookout for a lens for wedding photography and this seems to be the one most are talking about. I'm sure it was under £1000.00 a few months ago, now with the credit crunch Nikon have put up the price!!!!!
