Default New very cheap zoom

about three week ago I saw the Sigma 50-200mm f4-5.6 OS HSM DC lens advertised on the Jacobs web site for £99.

Normally I would not have given this lens a second glance, but for some strange reason (probably the cost) I ordered the lens, thinking it would probably be OK for my daughter to use on my old 30D.

On Sunday I was visiting my youngest son in Manchester. Being close to the runway at the airport I remembered the untried Sigma in my camera bag so quickly put it on the 7D and fired off a couple of shots of an Airbus A330 approaching the runway. Below is the result, must admit I was quite suprised at the result. Obviously not a replacement for my L lenses, but for £99 certainly a bargain.

I've just had a look on line and find this lens is now selling at double the price I paid.
