Default D7000 & 35mm f1.8 HELP ME PLEASE

Hi all,
I just bought a D7000 and 35mm f1.8 , Im newbie in photography, I tried to practice alot but my pictures are horrible!!! (
Could you please please help me how to take a picture like those with blur effect , lighting...? What are the setting...? Thanks alot

How about uploading some pictures so that we can see what you mean by "horrible"?
