Default Canon Cashback

For those Canon folk who are thinking of buying new equipment soon Canon are starting a new cash back scheme starting March 08. Follow the link to see the amounts off, I am not suggesting buying from Warehouseexpress as there is cheaper out there but they list the amounts available. To wet your apatite £100 off 40D, £75 off 100-400 L IS zoom.

In response...Nikon, Sony and Olympus are now running or due to run similar cashback incentives shortly. (Pentax?? )
Rather than rely on retailer websites, I would recommend keeping an eye on your favourite manufacturers website for offers where they normally appear first... spring is the season!

Strangely the UK Canon web site did not make it at all clear about the cash back and although I cannot afford anything at the moment and have already bought the 40D before this cash back I thought it a good idea to alert other Canon owners of the upcoming offer in case they were just about to part with their cash.

Nice work Mike.
Yes, I agree the Canon website sometimes isn't the easiest to navigate

Excuse me - but does anyone actually pay the asking price these days? Cash back offers or not - no one gets my money unless they are prepared to discount the item to start with - Recent Example at C**ry's - bought 32" LCD, HD Ready TV with built in freeview - their price £649 - paid £499.99p + free screen cleaning kit - I was happy - I bet they still made a profit.

Hey Andy you get the discount and then the cashback on top of that. Why sniff at getting the lowest UK price of say 40D and then another £100 off!?!

Hi Mike - not sniffing at all - That's just what I did with my original D70 that I got via Jessops - badgered the manager and got equivalent of staff discount plus Nikon cashback on D70 kit.
