I got this in my inbox today and knowing Sassan loves exotic glass
I thought it worth the post. Boy would I worry about that exposed front element. ![]() http://www.bjp-online.com/public/sho...ml?page=841691 Don |

You have the same problem with the Nikon 14-24, a large bulbous glass dome sticking out the front and no means of fitting any sort of filter on it.

Just curious but how is the glass protected when the lens is in your kit bag, a specially shaped lens hood?

Andy, don't they have rear drop in type filters any more?

No Rudra they don't. That is why I hung onto my 17-35 as well so I could use a filter on it, not as wide but a ND filter or polarizer is often essential. Mike you have a large plastic cap that fits over the fixed petal hood.
