I am new to image manipulation. Research has led me to a number of focussing software programs which claim to be better than using Unsharp Mask. Has anyone used Focus Magic or Focus Fixer, for example? Any thoughts would be appreciated

Unsharp mask is for sharpening an image and is very controllable. It does not correct out of focus subjects although it can help a little if the focus is out by a tiny amount. Don't know anything about the two programmes you mention.

Hi there Tony, I have and use occasionally the Fixer Labs bundle - to be honest most of my out of focus stuff is binned straight off. I prefer Focus Fixer because IMHO it produces less noise than Focus Magic ( which I did try ) and with the rest of the bundle it is better value. Both are good products but my preference is for the Focus Labs stuff.
