Having been dragged into the smartphone world by my kids I've come across a couple of apps/web pages which I find quite useful whilst out and about taking phots.
DoFMaster is a handy calculator to give the depth of field for any given focal length on any sensor. I often get a salutory reminder when shooting macro just how little DoF my settings are going to give. This is available as an App for iPhone and one for Android is due but you can always bookmark it as a web page.

How about shutter speed. In my case if I'm standing 15yds from the track side and the steam train is approaching at an estimated 60mph on a 45 degree angle just how fast a shutter speed do I need. John Dudak's site gives a handy calculator that will provide the answer. Not available as an App unfortunately but a useful link to bookmark providing you have internet access.

How early have I got to get up if I want to catch sunrise next weekend. "Sundroid" will provide the answers to this one anywhere in the world. A free App I found recommended in a photo magazine which allows you to select a location by GPS, Map Plot or Lat/Long Coords for any given date. It gives Sunrise and Sunset in the local time zone along with the moonphase. There is a £1.99 upgrade to a "pro" version which adds extra pages and predictions and forecasts including stellar info if you wish.

Anybody got anything else worth having?
