Hi all, long time since I was on here, so how are you all?
I have a question regarding the law (not sure where to post) It is to do with pictures of people and selling them. Now I know normally you would require a model release form, but how does that work when it is people paid to be at an event event? I will give you an example: I was recently at the British touring cars at donnington, and took some photos of the girls holding the drivers lane boards!! I have seen others selling these sorts of images and wondered where you stand legally, do you still require a model release form in order to sell the image? Cheers in advance guys/gals Ashley |

I would imagine you need permission from the event promoters.

You do not need model release forms if selling candid shots of people within a wider scene, however it is how the images are used that might cause problems, i.e. if you photographed someone leaving a betting shop and it was used to illustate an article about compulsive gambling, then the person in the shot could have a legitimate reason to claim against you and/or the publication depending on how you labelled the image when supplied to the publisher.
