			Hi

Not sure if this has been discuses before but I will ask anyway ![]() As someone on a tight budget my only option for a new camera is something like a Canon 1000d or Nikon D3000 but long term I cant help thinking I might be better off with something second hand like a Canon 20/30D or Nikon D80 etc I know there is more risk buying used but I would most likely go down the deal route anyway. Any help would be most appreciated.

I've bought lots of equipment second hand and never had a problem with any of it. Last purchase was a Nikon D90 to replace my D80, and a Sigma 70-300 lens.

Buy from reputable dealers like MPB Photographic, Mifsuds, or London Camera Exchange-these always have a good selection of used gear, presumably traded in by those who must have the latest gear! Dave |

The 20D was an excellent solidly built camera, I gave mine to my eldest son and it is still going strong. Many people rate Ffordes for second hand gear too.

Bought my 40D off someone on birdforum.net - sister site to this, & have taken ~15000 shots with it without missing a beat (touching wood).

Have bought a 70-200L f2.8 IS & a 24-70L f2.8 off ebay and been delighted with both purchases. Just look at their rep scores, or for forum members , their status |
