Default Urgent D70 help required

I have my fathers D70 to do some night shots around Central London next week. For long exposure photography I use the timer to reduce any operator induced vibration but....

After finding the timer settings in the advanced CSM menu I cannot workout how to operate the timer i.e. shutter release after a time out.

please Help I am going tomorrow morning very early

press the shooting mode/format button at the rear of camera then rotate main command dial until self timer mode is displayed in control panel.the self timer will start when shutter release button is pressed.timer settings can be 2s 5s 10s(the default setting) or 20s.

Superb, Thanks it did the trick.

I notice after a shot using the self timer it drops back into continious shooting mode.

Its not my regular camera I am using it for its lightweight properties as I am taking the train instead of the car, just cant be late for a 9am meeting.

Thanks again for the help and just in time
