Default Would you believe it?!

I sold my Canon EF 70-300 IS yesterday, went out today to capture the abseiling of the Hilton in Gateshead and my Sigma EX 70-200mm f2.8 decided it didn't want to auto focus anymore! AF will not work at all now. Anybody else ever had this problem with this lens? it is 1 year and 2 days old!!! I don't know if I will be lucky enough to get away with blagging them for repair through the extended Sigma UK warranty or not but I will give it a go.

Bad luck. Mine has been rock-solid through several years of abuse in tough conditions. Just a thought - have you tried cleaning the contacts on the lens and camera mounts? Might help, and certainly nothing lost if it doesnt.

Hi Gordon,

1st thing I did when I got back was to clean the contacts but it didn't make any difference

I have tried it with a different body and it's still the same so is definately the lens.

Ah well, just boxed it up ready to send to Sigma in the morning.

Cheers

Alan
