Well, I used to be rich then I got a 200-400 f4 VR.
There is a VR switch for ON/OFF and another for NORMAL/ACTIVE these are simple switches not a collar like the 300 f2.8 VR. Focus mode is again a simple switch above the VR selection and falls across two individual switches for M/A - M and a limiter for FULL/infinite-6m. 200-400 f4 VR is a mighty fine lens approx 95% sharpness of 300 f2.8 which is excellent for a zoom. my only grape is the size but when discussing this to a chap who also owned one at an airshow he said 'if you want a smaller 400mm lens fine if you want blurry pictures'. This lens is SHARP!

Many thanks Stephen,
Exactly what I wanted to know, optically it seems very good judging by the many outstanding images I have seen taken with it. Many thanks also for the other useful comments. regards Subzero |
