Default Sigma 12-24mm

Hi

Can somebody tell me how I can use a polarising filter with this lens? (or any filter)

Thanks

Hi
Thanks, I knew that the information with the lens detailed using geletin filters but I was keen to see how others had got round the fact that you can't use any filters at the front - but has anybody got a workaround this such that you can use a polariser. Will a Cokin setup work with this lens?

Thanks

Just seen the "Filters" thread in "Photographic Accessories" which has given me some ideas but still wonder how any 12-24 users have got around this issue.

Thanks

Stuart

I made a simple holder from half inch plywood that was cut to be a friction fit over the fixed lens hood. Two slotted wood slips were glued to this to hold Cokin X-Pro grads (the largest available). The plywood has a rebate to hold a 105mm polariser (push fit).
Expect some vignetting but not so noticeable with crop sensor.
Alternatively fit a 82mm Cokin or Lee adapter ring to the lens cover. It is already threaded and use the Cokin or Lee holder but expect a lot more vignetting.
