Default New Nikon cameras and lenses

Not to be outdone by Canon, some new Nikon cameras have been announced, you'd better have a big wallet though.
New D300 announced:

Presumably because the D200 isn't good enough!

New D3 announced

Note in particular the ISO up to 25600! Stick a fast 50 on the front of that and throw away your flashgun.

Oh, and some lenses too:

Anyone fancy a sweepstake on the price of the AF-S 600 mm F4G ED VR lens then? I suppose I could do a poll for a bit of fun.

Excellent news on the big VR prime lenses... long overdue. Parity in this field is good news for the photographer, as they have genuine choice and one company can't rest on it's laurels.

The photo magazine testers are going to have a lot of fun - not only will they be able to test the new kit from both Nikon and Canon but they can then re-visit them all over again with a 'comparative' test to see which is really the best!

You're not thinking of changing back again, are you, Andy

£5999 for the AF-S 600 according to Warehouse Express. Now that's a lot of bucks.

The thing is, now Andy can change back again if he wants to. This is the best news for a long, long time.
