Default POTW 20th Nov

Everyone seems to have been out with their macro lenses this week with great work by Adey Baker, Cracker & Kyte - in fact just about the only non macro shot to make my short list was Adey's Calm Waters, and I hope he'll forgive me for not choosing that as POTW because this week my choice goes to...

Adey Baker with More Often Heard Than Seen! Awesome closeup, great sharpness, detail & lighting - well done

Many thanks, Clive.

We actually have a species of Cicada in the UK, but it's confined to the New Forest area and its high-pitched 'chirping' isn't audible to everyone. You can't accuse these guys like the one in the photo of being inaudible, though! They're the background sound to any holiday in the warmer regions, especially the Mediterranean resorts.

Many of these resorts have an almost continuous line of hotels, etc. along the coast but turn round 180 degrees and find a stream or river-bed and you can often walk just a short distance to a totally different world with lots of wildlife to be found - especially insects (birds can be notoriously hard to find amongst the densely-foliated trees and bushes). http://www.worldphotographyforum.com...1027&ppuser=43
