My Choice for Sunday 2nd Febuary 2013 is 'The Rose Lady' taken by Buccaneer.
There were several points that attracted me; the beautiful rich colour of the roses that are featured in the upper left third of the shot which makes the composition so well balanced. The lady is almost superimposed by her clarity compared with the exotically interesting background. There have been several excellent shots from Buccaneer taken in Vietnam, but for me this one stood out.
This week yielded probably the largest number of gallery entries that I have had the pleasure of choosing from which made it all the more difficult. Some wonderful snow scenes from Mo (mbkamrani), the fine crab pot shots from Himself, not to mention an outstanding backlit owl from Peter W and a dramatic storm scene from Kyte all made it to my (rather long) short list – congratulations to all those contributors and thanks to everyone for submitting a sharing their shots.
