Did you get one of the clone tripod mounts Roy?

I just wondered if they were any good because I managed to leave the one for my 70-200/2.8 in storage back in the UK (doh!) - I rarely used it so completely forgot until recently. So I don't really want to pay out $150 for a second one...

No I did not Mark - it seems fairly good off of the camera mount so I have not bothered.

Hi again Roy!
I haven't got a 100 macro but use a chinese version tripod ring for my 70-200and it's fine. (£100 is an outrageous price for the Canon!) Got to be worth a go.
All best,
Dave

Luckily enough Dave I had a tripod ring supplied with my 400mm f5.6 which also fits my 70-200. But like you say, the Canon prices are outrageous. Must have another look at the 100 macro ring again.
Cheers

P.S Dave, I did not know you posted on this forum or have you just joined.

Default 100mm macro lens mount

Hi Roy
Guess what after getting the lens mount from china I thought I would just try something, I have a sigma 170-500 lens that has a mount ring included and it fits the canon 100mm macro lens a treat, so if anybody prefers that its a lot cheaper than canon 49-99 part number 560002 on the sigma website,
Will
