Installing CS2
I just received a copy of CS2 so I'll finally be changing from PS7. I'm wondering if I need to remove PS7 before I install CS@. It may tell me when I go to do the installation but i'm asking just in case.
The new software that I bought is labeled CS2 Commercial Version 9. I'm not sure what the implications of that may be. It's an Ebay purchase and there was nothing in the description of the product to indicate that it was more than the normal retail version. Thanks! |

You should be able to keep both version, as it creates an additional (new) folder under the parent Adobe one.

There is a academic/educational version which I assume is slightly cut-down. You have the full version

I got it all installed but am disappointed to find that it doesn't include Camera RAW. I downloaded a couple of versions of CR from the Adobe site but neither one was compatible with my CS2.

CS2 should contain Camera Raw but won't support latest camera models. If you've got a newer camera it may be possible to download a DNG converter from Adobe, convert your Raw files to DNG and then try them in camera Raw.

CS2 supports ACR up to and including v3.7 You can download it from here: Adobe Camera RAW 3.7 ACR 3.7 is a good raw processing package to learn on with a nice, simple, intuitive user interface. It's not the most fully featured package by the latest standards, and the quality isn't to my tastes, but it's free and a good learning tool. Regards, Duncan |

Thanks! I'll check it out although I may end up staying with DPP. At least I know my way around in it.

Here's a direct download of CameraRaw 4.4 DNG from Adobe, includes all the latest DSLR's.

Bear in mind that CS2 does not support versions of ACR later than 3.7
