Today, Nikon UK have details of two new Nikons. The D300S and the D3000. The D300S is described as an upgrade of its highly successful professional Nikon D300 and the D3000 is a new entry level DSLR.

None of them Mike - I've converted to full frame only, except for the IR converted D100.

The D300s looks interesting. processing and frame rate speeds look to be continuing on the up.

Just looked at the D5000, sounds super with its big number but there isn't much about it, it is a D60 that mated with a D80!

will look at the D300s though as I'm looking for an upgrade. Hopefully it will inspire me to get out there and shoot, as nothing has recently.

I just recently went the other way, after buying a work reject, a £5 junker Kiev 19 to fit my nikon lenses....then ran a roll of HP5 through it. the speeds on the shutter dial were more a suggestion than reality, the meter is erratic as only a scrap eastern block camera can be, but the whole experience was an excellent personal technological purge
