Who knows Andy but having a quick look at Nikon returns procedure it does not look like they provide you with a box. As the camera is so new I would consider taking it back to the dealer if it is close by and ask them to deal with it.

Sorry to hear that Andy.
I am hearing that it is only confined to 1.2X crop mode.
Question is did you see the problem before the announcement or is this one of those precautious recalls?

No it's not just in crop mode but also long exposures. The amount is variable from camera to camera. I also noticed that Nikon do not claim they will eliminate it but minimize the problem by careful adjustments.

Well, I've just received an email from Nikon. I posted it last weekend - bank holiday - it was sent Tuesday, they acknowledged receipt Wednesday and today(Thirsday) I have been told it is being returned by courier. I think that is very good service. I rang them last Thursday and received a pre paid label on Friday to send it to them.
