Default Raw Converter Problem

Dear All,
Can anybody help me with a raw converter to jpg issue.
When I convert a photograph to greyscale using PS3 raw converter, then save it as a jpg, it refuses to instal in iPhoto.
Equipment:
Mac Computer and Photoshop 3.
Looking forward to your replies,
Gordon

Are you just doing a save of jpeg in PS3 or saving as web ?

The saving as web option strips out most non image information to keep the file size low. Bloated files slow down the internet.

Dear Rob,
Thank you for replying.

Not as web option.

The procedure: I select the original jpg photograph in Bridge and invite it to kest up in the raw converter (Command+R). I open it in HSL/Greyscale - the one with the bedspring icon - then tick the Greyscale box, make the adjustments, then save it as a Tiff in the original folder, where I do the final sharpening. I then convert it from Tiff to Jpg. This is the stage when the difficulty occurs in that iPhoto wont accept it when it is moved to iPhoto from the folder.

The iPhoto message reads 'Unreadable File. The following file could not be imported (the file is in an unrecognised format)'

If I do the Greyscale conversion in CS3 there is no problem.

This happens in both Leopard and Snow Leopard. Yes, I have two solar-powered Macs!

Cheers, G B-S.

I do not have a Mac but I recognise the problem.

You will find that it is the color space profile that is the problem and I'm guessing it is set to Grey Gamma 2.2, try changing the profile to srgb then Iphoto will recognise it.
