I havent posted any pics here, but on a birding site. I do sometimes get a little frustrated at the 'great shot' type comment - nice as it is to hear people like the shot, it would help me develop as a photographer to know what is 'great' (or not!) about it. Having said that, the gallery on that site is not really the vehicle for that sort of comment - that's what the photo critique forum is for!
When critiquing images, I try to say what is positive, in my view, about the pic, then what could be done better, then what I dont like, and why. That way, I hope to give a balanced opinion that the author may find useful.

It all depends on your point of view I suppose. I'd rarely comment on technique because I have no qualification to do so. A comment -rather than a critique - may be simply to say to the poster that you've looked at their photo and like it. No more no less. Some people upload photos for critique -some just to share a moment/view/sunset/funny occurence etc.
I've never bothered to tick the critique box because I only take snapshots!

Frankly speaking I do get the hump , if I do get the criticisim ( that is very human). But I also do realize It makes me a better person. It widens my vision.
It is more if I do not get if my image do not get any comments, nothing could be worse than that
This is all I can say about myself

You've only posted 4 and only one remains un-commented, thats pretty good in my mind! Someone told me, people will appreciate your images, yet not feel a need to comment.
