Default Repeating themes

After years of buying photo magazines I have noticed an increasing trend to repeat articles over a two year period even to the extent of using the same images.
They also seem to do tripod reviews, bag reviews and filter reviews above other things.
I would like to see articles on software, accessories, places to visit and things that help to inspire you.
Maybe I am just getting old but magazines seem to need a bit of curves and levels to brighten them up and make them worth the £5 or so they cost.

I noticed the same thing when I started out on digital photography. I guess that there's only so much that can be said. However, I did learn a thing or two from magazines in my first couple of years.

One of my "problems" is all the editing / manipulation articles are for PS or light room,
and a lot are for "manufactured" images rather than photographs.

When I switched to digital I found the same thing. First year I'd buy lots of mags after 2 years stopped buying as just repeats. Such is life.

It's just as well really there's only a limited space in the house for keeping old magazines. I've made a point of downloading some very old photographic magazines from archive.org. At least there's been a bit of change in subject matter since 1880 :-)
