Default Firefox, slowing down

Is anyone experiencing a slow down of the new version of firefox. Since updating to the new version last week I get periods during the day when everything starts to come to a halt or is very slow and jerky when scrolling.

I have tried clearing the cache and it doesn't make any difference.

Default Firefox slowdown

Hi Christine, I've had similar problems with firefox, to the extent that I have been clearing my cache, till I'm fed up of doing it and some sites just won't load at all. I don't know whether it is Firefox itself or maybe an incompatible version of Java. I think the next thing to do is to re-install Firefox and see how it goes.

Hi Christine, I've just tried Safari and don't seem to have a problem compared to Firefox it is like a rocket. I suggest you try Safari and you should be back up to speed.

Andy, I have disabled my Anti virus and it didn't make any difference. The problem is intermittent, sometimes it works fine then all of a sudden it goes slow for about an hour then speeds back up again.

I'll agree with Foxy, I tried everything else all to no avail. I finally switched to Safari this afternoon and now we are back up to speed.

What is strange the speed is back to normal now and I haven't reloaded. Could it be the bad weather we are having and its altering the gain or just busy traffic.
