I went for Nikon branded batteries out of the shop but got $20 knocked off each. I've had 3rd party batteries before and although they never caught fire the battery life was really bad.

I have the UV filter. I bought that at the same time to protect the lens.

My next purchase is definately more memory. Then probably the

Polarising filter
SB-600 or 800 flash
Macro Lens + possibley others
Maybe a new bag. I already have 3 but my fave is too small
Better Tripod - probably Manfrotto
Remote release
Battery grip

After all that or along with it is a studio set up.

By the way does anyone know how to make your own lightbox?

Fiona,

I assume by light box you are thinking flash softbox. There is quite a bit on flash diffusion in the flash forum.
