Default ZigView and Zigview R

Hi

Has anyone had experience of using either of these rather useful-looking devices (search using "Zigview" on www.warehouseexpress.co.uk)?

I am thinking to get one to use on my Canon 20D but would like to find out what others think before parting with my "wad"!

Cheers
Didi

I've also thought that they look an interesting addition to the kit bag - be interested in any first hand experience

The zigview is a very handy piece of kit. It benefits from a shade around the screen on sunny days but it gives you the flexibility to create shots that you wouldn't otherwise get. It's a sealed rechargeable unit, so if you're away from a power source for a few days this might be an issue, but other than that I've found no faults with it.

R2didi2 and I were at Birdfair this weekend, where we found out that there's a new Zigview on the way - the S2. This one has the features of the R but the LCD is rotatable in extra directions and you can remove the LCD and attach it with a cabe - allowing it to be used as a remote release, but one where you can see the image in the viewfinder!

Sounds like a great idea but the new model's listed at £250 on the Zigview website! At that price I'll wait a while.

There's a comms port on the standard £99 model but there's no info in the instructions or on the Zigview site about what this can be used for. I use my Zigview for high-level shots so it would be nice to be able to connect a remote monitor to it to save peering up at a tiny screen.

I've just had a response from the Zigview site that the port on the standard model isn't live.
