Many thanks for that link, a very interesting read. I was particularly taken by the statement:

I hadn't realisedthis was the case, I'd assumed it was just badge engineering between the brands. Presumably each manufacturer will have tweaked the firmware to suit their own agendas.

I was also very interested to see the f2.8 50-135 lens on show. This lens, or at least one with an identical specification, has been shown as being in development by Pentax, due for release in Pentax brand in December. This would very nicely fill the hole between my 18-55 and 135-400 and have a much wider aperture than the currently available 50-200. I'm sure it will cost a lot more than the 50-200, but then, that's life.
