New Camera
Yesterday, I bit the bullet and bought a Canon EOS 20D. Much as I like my Nikon Coolpix 4500 there are some things that it doesn't do well. The new camera came with a 18/55 mm zoom lens and I bought a additional zoom, an 70/300 mm. Now all I have to do is learn how to use them. The first thing will probally be to experiment using RAW.

Congratulations! I am not familiar with coolpix cameras but I am sure you are impressed with DSLR quality and handling.
Could I ask why you have turned your back on Nikon? I would have thought a D200 would have been the obvious choice!

Snowy welcome to the Canon camp I was starting to feel out numbered - LOL. 20D may not be the latest but it's still a good camera. Ideal time to buy with the 30D coming out. I'll wait for the next model before upgrading.
