Thankyou Don for your generous offer, though I think we agree that Nikonians should supply the correct replacement knob. I will ask them to do that (again!).
I'm tempted to write this all down to a bit of confusion somewhere along the line. |

Leif,
No probs with doing it if you have no luck with Nikonians or it all drags on a bit. I am sure if you refer them to their own instructions for the replacement knob they will send the right one. Having had a good look at the net info on the head it certainly looks to be a pretty impressive unit. Let us know how you get on. Don |

Leif, I've been reading your thread with interest.
Your ingenuity is inspired, my hat goes off to you. I do hope they supply the correct replacement part this time, but I have a horrible niggly feeling they're gonna let you down. I only hope it's not me getting a negative stance. Quote:
I have my fingers crossed that you get an adequate result on this one Leif. Just wanted to post my words of support. Good luck cheers Joe |

Thanks Joe. It seems such a waste to exchange my almost perfect unit for a new one, which is part of the reason for refusing. And anyway I find the wing nut preferable to the original knob, as it is easier on the fingers.
