Default POTW 9th December 2012

This week I've chosen "Morning Mists" by Tom Charles.

First off, it's a striking image - a real eye grabber. Then the subtler points kick in; it's a glorious light, the mists providing layers from the field to the roadway to the church in the woodland. I do like the row of sheep and also the dots of wool clinging to the fence wire. Ala in all... as someone said in the comments, '...there's so much to like here'. I thought so too.

I made half a dozen choices from the week's gallery, finally ending with just three; Jack's gentle Yellowstone Vista, Trena's 'Day 349 ..drop off' and of course Tom's winner.

A beautiful image with very well controlled exposure of the sunlit mist. I like the recession of the various horizons and the way they are tied together by the verticals of the fence posts, telegraph poles and spire.
