Default Filters Advice

I purchased the DSLR and lenses a few months back, but no filters. The one filter I am really missing is a circular polarisor. I will be using it mainly on a 28-75 f2.8 but will probably use it with another zoom up to 200mm (a future purchase).

I used to use the Cokin system with the relevant adaptors for my lenses. This still seems the cost effective choice - anyone have any comments on quality compared to a screw-on type (e.g. Hoya pro)?

A Cokin mount, polarisor and 2 lens adaptor rings seems much cheaper than 2 dedicated filters...

Any help appreciated!

Cheers Mark.
