Post upgrade

I think we get drawn into the upgrade game, when we should use what we have to the hilt, and then upgrade.

I don't think you need to change a good camera for years unless something goes wrong with it. I also believe that unless you are exceptional in photography, most of the gimmicks won't help you. Learn to use your camera through your manual and practice.

True, oh so true but the manufacturers don't want this attitude spreading!
Not long ago the upgrades did make quite a difference but for the average guy like me who only prints to A4 or posts on the web that is no longer the case. There is still a side of most folk (me included) who would like the latest and best but at the moment people are drawing their horns in and I am going to miss out the 50 D for sure, sorry Canon.
