POTW 27th Dec 2015
Well here we are last POTW for 2015 & hasn't the year flown by. A few caught my eye for the shortlist this week. I liked Hooshang's 'Bean' as something different, Nigel produced three lovely shots, particularly liked the long tailed tit, which I thought might suit a square crop?
But as a sucker for landscapes (& seascapes) the winner is Nigel's Durdle door Sunrise for several reasons. I appreciate the effort it takes to get up early enough to get to a location and in this case beat others to the prime spot! I thought the clouds actually add to the composition. The light & dark has been handled really well & it suits the narrow crop which includes enough of the beach to complete the picture. If I'm really picky the horizon needs a tweek, its slightly down on the right. Well done everyone keep them coming for 2016. Last edited by Ade G; 28-12-15 at 12:00. |

Superb. A classic location given a vital treatment.

Curvature of the earth I think - No - alright, just checked in Lightroom and you are entirely correct - note to self "Attention to Detail"
Thank you the vote - I agree the clouds add quite a bit but will have to try again next year for the classic sunburst on the horizon.
