Hi Terry, can I suggest you take a deep breath and slow down, chill out - you have a lifetime of taking pictures ahead of you........ as Clive asks " Why do you need a 7D?" - Have you mastered your 50D yet? Camera bodies change every 12 - 18 months, each supposedly an upgrade of the last. The 50D is a fine camera (and I'm a Nikon user) - if you must spend your money now, look at your kit and concentrate on the best lenses you can afford for the images you wish to take. Are you printing pictures at 10ft x 6ft ? Then anything up to 6 - 12 MP will give you perfect prints at say 16 ins x 20 ins. Your motor way shots are not bad - do you need the hand rail? For me there are two essential filters - u/v and polarizer plus Graduated ND and straight ND if you are doing landscape - but that is MY choice, I'm not you and Duncan's method works as well. Also most filters can be added later through Photoshop and other editing software.

Thanks for the advise, but I am 68 next month, What you say is very true, I still need some glass as well, new canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS which I think is bundled with the 7d will do me.
