Angry Andy Summers..... or, A Police rant

Just read that a new limited edition (1500) book of behind the scenes photographs take by Andy Summers between 1980-1983 of the rock band 'The Police' has just been released.....as guitarist, Andy would be in an exceedingly good place to shoot behind the scenes...but the only photo I have seen includes his bare feet in the shot.

HOWEVER

As a long time fan, I was more than appalled by the concert ticket prices at the MEN, Manchester.....so was glad to read that a good hardback book with some reportage style photos be available.....until I read the price..

admittedly, a limited edition is a limited edition...but £300 quid!!!!
I simply can't justify that..

Isn't Sting rich enough?!!!... the b@st@rd!!

(rant over....and out)

I wouldn't have called 1500 a limited edition exactly.

Thumbs down

In all fairness, 1500 worldwide is a limited edition when comparing those numbers to many other publications of the type....
£300 is still way too steep tho
Ironically I don't doubt for a moment that all of them will sell....with one or two probably making an appearance on the mighty EBAY at an even more vastly inflated price!

I used to work in the book distribution industry, and the most expensive book that we distributed was "G.O.A.T", or Greatest Of All Time. It was the biography of Muhammad Ali and sold at £2,500 per copy.

I have a 'limited edition' illustrated edition of Kipling's Jungle book 1,076 copies. 1 copy contained the original art work, 75 copies contained additional B&W copies if the main coloured woodcuts, then there were 1000 other copies. Only the first 76 are worth any real amount of money.
