Default Graphics Tablets

I am thinking of buying a graphics tablet for retouching images in Photoshop. Just wondered if anyone had any experience of these. I would imagine that using a stylus to move around the screen would be more comfortable and natural then using a mouse. Also which size would be best as they seem to range from A6 to A4.

I have one purchased from Aldi - it worked great on my old PC but I can't seem to get it to work on my laptop. Having said that when I was using it I found it a lot easier to control re-touching, you can be more accurate, but I didn't like it for general windows functions such as right click etc.

I have been using a Wacom A6 tablet on and off for about 2 years and am very happy with it. It gives much better control than you could hope to achieve with a mouse - imagine the control you have over a normal pen - this is similar. I am happy to let you have a look at if you wish since we are not far apart.

Gerry.

I'm also using a Wacom A6 which I bought reconditioned from Wacom. At first I thought that the A6 size might be a bit small but its great and I can strongly recommend - you get so much more control over a mouse

Default Wacom Tablet

I have been using a Wacom Intuos 2 A6 for a couple of years. Took a while to get used to but it is indispensable for accurate editing. Superb customer service - I broke, my fault, the top cover to the desk pad and they replaced it under warranty. Outside of warranty the scroll wheel started to get intermittent and they replaced the mouse, out of warranty, at no charge.

Highly recommended.

Mike

Recently purchased a Wacom tablet for my wife (she's the PS guru) and she loves it. I bought it after noticing a friend had installed one for his PS work. He swears by it and uses the mouse very rarely these days.

cheers,
jim

I seem to be very out of step... I never got used to a pen & tablet, always happier with a mouse in the hand. One day I will see the light.
