This is a wonderful combination if you can afford it.
Another point why 30D is better than 5D despite the full frame fame of 5D, is the shutter speed of 30D, max at 5 frame per second as opposed to 5D that is 3 fps. Of course you get a bit more detail from 56% higher pixel available on 5D's full frame.
No mater what, you can not go wrong with this combination.
