I have just bought a Panasonic ZS3 and I was hoping I could plug it into a monitor to allow remote viewing of any pictures or video I might be taking, in real time.
Another application would be for radio controlled aerial photography where the camera would be mounted on an RC aircraft, plugged into a transmitter to allow real time viewing of what the camera is pointed at while taking stills or video. I've tried plugging it into the TV but all I can see are photos and video in playback. Am I missing something? Can the camera/cable be modded to allow this? Any help appreciated. |

Tommy, I am not much help as I am not familiar with the camera, did it come with a USB lead, I would have thought you could link it to your computer that way for live viewing.

Hi,
Yes, I have all the cables and I have solved the problem of still photos in real time with the help from someone else on another forum. What you do is hold the 'Q.Menu' button for approximately five seconds, the screen will blink and the camera will then display an exact copy of the LCD on a TV, monitor etc. For some reason Panasonic default the camera to prevent this at the factory. This does not, however, allow viewing of video during recording, which still remains blank. When using this camera for AP I will have to mount an additional CMOS camera alongside the Panasonic so I can view what I'm filming. |
