find out how many shutter acuations

Was interested to know how many shutter acuations my camera had done....

used this program, works a treat, just open the last image you took and scroll down through the EXIF date.

I have never used this util before, I would like to find what my shutter actuations are too, but I can’t seem to find them with this program!!

I have used the Astrojargon utility (free download) for the 40D shutter count - works a treat.

A popular EXIF examination utility, which lets you read the shutter count amongst other things (want to know the temperature of your sensor at the time the photo was taken? No, didn't think so), is photome.

Hi mate as i said in my first post, just open the last image you took, using the software stated. you can then scoll down to see the shutter count.....simple.....hope this helps.

I have just run Opanda IEXIF on a jpeg and there is now where in the EXIF that shows the shutter count (40D Camera). Is this the software your are talking about?

yes mate....thats strange....ill take another look.

Ok just had another look........scroll right down the bottom and its under.....toatal number of shutter releases for camera.

My understanding is that only EOSinfo will tell you the shutter count on the 40D and then only if you use a 32 bit machine

There is not even a shutter release field - I have tried this on 350D, 400D, 40D and non of them give the shutter releases.
I had a search around the web and it looks like this will only work on 1D series for Canon DSLR's (with Opanda IEXIF). In fact for non 1 series Cameras Canon do not put the shutter count anywhere in the EXIF.
