What's Going On In This Picture.
Why does the contrail in this picture appear broken? When I magnify the shot the broken effect disappears. I have several similar shots and I see the same thing in all of them.

The effect is due to resampling when the image is resized. It depends on what sampling method is used. Some methods include anti-aliasing techniques.
